This Russian matryoshka nesting doll set consists of 10 hand-painted wooden dolls , decorated in a rich red and pink ornamental floral style. The dolls feature layered white flower motifs, gold-painted medallion details on the chest, and lace-style gold accents on the headscarf. Each doll is finished with classic Russian folk facial features, including expressive blue eyes and rosy cheeks. The largest doll measures 14 cm in height , with nine progressively smaller dolls nesting neatly inside. Opening and caring for your dolls
Hold the top and bottom halves in both hands and twist gently along the seam instead of pulling straight up. Keep the set away from damp rooms and radiators, and dust it with a dry cloth.

Every set is painted freehand, so the flowers, the face and the grain differ a little from one to the next. The photograph shows the pattern and the colours, not the exact set you will receive.
A new set can feel tight
The halves are cut to grip. Twist gently along the seam rather than pulling, and if it stays stiff, a little dry wax on the bare inner rim sorts it out.
It arrives packed for the journey
Tissue between the halves, a sealed sleeve against damp, bubble wrap, and a double-walled box. Shipping is included and insured, and you get a tracking number when it leaves.
